Brooks Racer ST 5 Shoe Review

Brooks Racer ST 5 Shoe review

Brooks Racer ST 5

The Brooks Racer ST 5 has been a favorite of mine for the past few years. The shoe has the right amount of support for any distance ranging from 5k to marathon distances. Not only does the shoe have a decent amount of support, but the shoe is really lightweight and feels fast. Similar to the review of the Adidas Tempo 6, this shoe feels and looks fast. Weighing in at under 9oz, really makes you feel light on your feet.

Brooks Racer ST 5 Verdict

Before this year, the Brooks Racer ST 5 was my go-to shoe for any race distance. It is lightweight, looks great, and provides a good amount of support. I would definitely recommend this shoe if you are looking for a racing and speed work shoe.

The Brooks Racer ST 5 is the shoe I wore to set my current marathon PR of 2:56. I am still not sure how I ran that time, but think the shoes definitely helped me get there.

Brooks Racer ST 5 Initial Thoughts

Before I even put on the latest version of the Brooks Racer ST 5, I was impressed with the color scheme of this shoe. The blue and yellow have an appeal to many and look absolutely amazing. When I first put on the Brooks Racer ST 5 running shoe, I quickly noticed how comfortable and lightweight they were. The support of the sole and vented toe box made my feet feel great.

I have had this shoe in 2 other colors and really like the look and feel of this lightweight running shoe. During my first test run of these shoes, they felt just like the other versions I have worn in the past. These shoes not only feel great but look fast.

  • Hey is this shoe discontinued? I was a big fan but can’t seem to find a pair anymore.

    • Phil, this shoe is not discontinued. The best price I could find was being a VIP at Road Runner Sports (link). Use ‘C6X10055’ if you are a VIP for 20% off. If you aren’t a VIP, you can get 10% off with code ‘C6X10028’. These shoes are also available on Amazon with no discount. Normally it is pretty easy to save at least 20% off, but with these shoes it doesn’t seem to be as easy. I used to wear these in every marathon and have nothing but great things to say about these.
